Junior Chemistry Set Two for Primary aged students
The Junior Chemistry Set Two is an add-on toJunior Chemistry Set One.
The Junior Chemistry Course Two is currently being written and filmed and should be available late December 2023. The workbook will be made available for free if you purchase this set. This course will require both Junior Chemistry Set One and Two.
The Set includes a first of its kind simple heating unit designed to incorporate a tea light candle to heat a beaker, conical flask or small metal pan.
It is designed for Primary aged students.
Due to hot components and exposed flame we recommend that all children using the equipment be actively supervised by a responsible adult in an area free of flammable materials.
Safety precautions such as hair tied back and the use of safety glasses (separately available from our store) should be adhered to.
Due to the small size of the equipment, far less mess is made and fewer consumables are required than with regular sized equipment.
Note - this set contains glassware.
Currently there are no instructions or lesson plans included - we are actively writing a course, which is due for release in December 2023 - it will be available for free to purchasers of this equipment.
Each set contains
1. An case of your choice of colour - 17cm long, 12cm wide (Blue, Aqua, Green, Orange, Pink, or White)
2. A quality foam infill which is firm to the touch, washable and long lasting. The infill helps keep the equipment organised and secure.
3. A stainless steel wire mesh which after un-folding is used as a simple heating unit incorporation with a tea light candle
4. A 10ml glass beaker
5. A plastic mixing and storage container with screw on lid
6. A steel pan
7. An aluminium pan
8. A resin plate (white)
9. A 5ml glass conical flask with rubber stopper
10. A small plastic vial
11. Two glass test tubes
13. Two 000 rubber stoppers to fit test tubes.
14.. A small wooden peg (to handle hot test tubes)
Extras not inside set include
i) Two tealight candles
ii) A pack of Indicator paper
iii) Five pieces of filter paper
iv) A vial of Alum for crystallisation experiments
The glass equipment is robust and strong. It gives the sense that this is real equipment and not just a toy. If dropped onto a carpeted floor the glass won't break.
The glass is generally easy to clean and does not go milky like plastic equipment.
Note - We stock spares of all the individual pieces of equipment, so if an item does get lost or broken, it is easily replaced.
