Future Technologies Innovation Set STEM Exciting Imaginations
This Future Technologies Set will stimulate and excite your kids minds!
Each piece of equipment has been designed and developed by Jacob Strickling , our in-house, fun loving Science guy!
A 2 page worksheet / instructions is included as a downloadable pdf upon purchase of the equipment.
Set includes:
1. A small motor with fan and click connectors.
The motor can be connected to:
i) The single battery pack for regular speed. If the polarity (positive and negative) is reversed it spins the opposite way
ii)The double battery pack in series for high speed. .
iii) The Solar Panel which will even run it in cloudy conditions.
iv) The Peltier Device which will power the motor when heated with the candle.
2. A Solid State Peltier device
i) When the Peltier device is connected to the two battery packs, one side gets surprisingly cold and one side hot!
ii) The Peltier Device can be powered by the Solar Panel.
iii) If the Peltier device is heated with a candle, it produces electricity! This powers the electric motor and can be used on the small boat to move it along!
iv) If tiny ice cubes are placed on the top of the Peltier Device and it is heated from below, it produces much more electricity!
3. Wireless Electricity Transmitter and ten LED coloured Receivers.
i) Power it with the two battery packs and the colourful LED globes light up bright!
ii) The kids can make animals or similar from the plasticene and put the LED globes as the eyes. When the animal is brought near the 'magic portal' the LED's light up!
4. A Water Misting Device
i) When connected to the two battery packs the misting device emits an amazing torrent of mist which is cool to the touch.
ii) Use the misting device to erupt the included cardboard cut-out which forms a volcano.
iii) Connect it to the Solar Panel and make a handheld solar powered cooling device!
5. A Small Boat. Polystyrene base with firm foam upperside.
i) Use some sandpaper to shape the under side of the boat.
ii) Push the boat along with the motor and the fan, powered by either the candle and Peltier Device or battery pack.
6. Two Battery Packs and 2 click connector (Batteries not included)
These can be arranged to output 3 volts or 6 volts (when connected in series)
7. Solar Panel - 6 Volts at 0.33 Amps - 2 Watts
This Solar Panel produces enough electricity to power the large electric motor in our Electricity Sets as well!
8. Tiny Ice Cube Tray
Makes 16 tiny 1cm cube ice cubes! Ideal to place on top of the Peltier Device giving it extra Oomph!
9. Two containers of Plasticene. Note - The colours supplied are randomised.
The plasticene is used to make animals or objects into which to stick the LED globes for the wireless electricity transmitter.
10. Wire gauze tripod and candle
Used to hold and heat the Peltier Device
11. A cardboard Volcano
The volcano can coloured in and decorated and then held in 3d shape using some sticky tape.
